Apple’s first formal Product Placement Program started in the late 1980’s. Since its inception, it has never paid fees for inclusion in any Film or TV Series.
In the early 90’s Apple only had about a 10% market share in the us PC arena. However, It bragged that it had a 90% market share on the silver screen.
Apple products have always been embraced by creative professionals due to the graphic nature of its products and solutions. Apple also introduced professional, yet easy to use film editing software that helped spread its positive reputation in the entertainment industry.
Films preferred using Apple products for “Good Guys” and PC products for “Bad Guys”’ “The Net starring Sandra Bullock is an excellent example of this.
